After the Central and West Area Planning Committee voted to allow planning permission for a McDonalds to be built in the car park of the Duloch Tesco, Liberal Democrat Scottish Parliament Candidate for Dunfermline Aude Boubaker-Calder launched a petition to ask Tesco to reconsider this. 339 local residents have now signed this petition as of the time of writing.

Speaking after acquiring a letter from Fife Council to schools notifying them that the council intends to seize 17% of the special funding meant to help the poorest pupils, the leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Willie Rennie said: 

The Dunfermline Liberal Democrats have selected Aude Boubaker-Calder as their candidate for the Scottish Parliamentary Election next year. The seat was held by the Scottish Liberal Democrats until 2011. Aude previously came second in the Dunfermline Central Council by-election last year, coming only 2 votes behind the SNP winner.
